Warm Up

Winter weather is (eventually???) upon us. And nothing makes the cooler temps a little more palatable than a beautiful coat. The "fall maxi" is having a moment. Long sleeved, to-the-floor, slit-to-here, or cut-down-to-there, I love how versatile it is. Meet Romwe

I discovered Chinese fast fashion clothing site Romwe a few weeks ago while shopping for work. What struck me at first was (obviously) the prices.They seem to knock-off a lot of Free People and brands from Revolve and price them anywhere from $11-$25. The descriptions are terrible- they label almost all of the fabric content as polyester even when it's cotton or rayon, but I thought it worth a try and ordered a few things. The results? Pretty great! I ordered the denim and white dresses below and think were a great deal for the price. The fabric is surprisingly nice and I got a ton of complements. Look, these aren't investment pieces. But if you're like me and like to have some not-too-precious casual items for summer weekends and work days (ie things you don't mind sweating in and sitting on the subway in), you can find some good deals here. This or That?

Trolling in the juniors section on tjmaxx.com recently, I saw a few familiar faces from Urban Outfitters. Yes, these items are from last year, but one of them I actually missed out on during their big summer sale back in July. They're still on trend, still right, and yes I still want them. It's interesting to see the Urban styling vs. the TJMaxx styling (or lack there of). The garments are almost unrecognizable between the two sites. Below the Urban Outfitters' versions. Are We There Yet?

With my summer vacation (finally!) on the horizon, I can't help but have resort wear on the brain. I think the things you wear on vacation should be your absolute favorites - items you can't wear in your normal day-to-day life, the things you long to wear all year round. They should transform and transport. For me, that always means an exotic print, a new silhouette, and as many tassels as possible.

Once Upon a Time ...

I was obsessed with anything Abercrombie. In the 90's, they were heavily inspired by vintage American workwear and every piece had its own special detail. In a way they remind me of what Ralph Lauren's Denim & Supply line is doing today. The 2000's were not kind to Abercrombie as they took on a glittery Britney-era persona that was anything but cool. Today they're exploring their roots with a cool girl twist. Back are the vintage washes and super soft fabrics. Back is the timeless menswear inspired outerwear. Yes, a lot of it is young (hello crop tops), but there are definitely items that fit in with my adult life. And their sales? Killer.

Daily Deal feat. Move by Alternative Apparel

I don't do yoga, but Alternative Apparel's Move collection makes me want to. The L.A. based company started out doing basic t-shirts and sweatshirts in soft organic cotton. They have since evolved into fashionable ready-to-wear knit and wovens in their signature vintage inspired fabrications. A few years ago they launched "Move," a collection of comfortable, easy to move in pieces that look just as great at the yoga studio as they do at Trader Joe's.

I don't think this collection is as performance driven as I would need it to be to actually work out in, but I would love to add these pieces to my errand running wardrobe, especially come spring time.

Summer Dreaming

Daily Deal feat. Nike Elastika

Nike has by far some of my favorite workout gear. The rise on their leggings is perfect, the fabrics give great coverage, and they offer some fun fashion pieces at a decent price. Their "Elastika" tank top has been on my gym rotation for years. I love the modern loose cut, the peek of a fun sports bra (and ripped lats!) underneath, and grown-up color combos.

Workout wear is notoriously tough to buy on sale (it rarely gets marked down), but 6pm has a broad selection including my own (and your soon to be) favorite Elastika.
