Big Nasty Sale

There is a pretty serious sale happening at  Nasty Gal right now. I almost bought a few things on sale last week, but thankfully I didn't because all sale is an extra 40% off right now.

Here's a few things that made it to my shopping bag..

Overalls can be tricky. They can make you look like a little boy or a farmer. They can make you look stumpy or dated. Enter Madewell's Flea Market Flare overall. The flare adds length to your legs and gives them that chic 70's feel while the dark wash gives a slimming effect all over.

These are a fashion item, so I would never pay full price for them. But if they happen to become a big part of your wardrobe rotation, you'll be even more stoked about the $35 price point. I'll be wearing mine with a slim turtleneck, platform boots, and the perfect hat.

Warm Up

Winter weather is (eventually???) upon us. And nothing makes the cooler temps a little more palatable than a beautiful coat. While there's nothing wrong with a zipped-to-here puffer when it's ten below and sleeting down your collar, the rest of the time a good statement coat can make any outfit look like a million bucks.

These lovelies will not only make your Saturday morning Trader Joe's uniform (jeans, sneakers, no-bra) look chic, but won't make you feel guilty because really you should be shopping for someone else.

Saturday Edit

One of the first rounds of fall clearance is happening and there are some major goodies to be had. As per usual I'm itching to add some new sunnies and booties to the mix.

But hands-down the best deal this week is the Cynthia Vincent drape cardi in this post. It's everything; a heavy weight wool-blend, ombre, a great ikat pattern.. and more than 90% off! I can't wait to add it to my fall rotation.

Buy Now, Wear Now

When H&M's sales are good, they're good. There's a lot of summer clearance in the mix, so if you're like me and completely over summer, you won't be interested in most of it.  But there are a few fall gems that will easily mix into your transitional wardrobe.

Daily Deal featuring Maison Scotch

Last year, I was on the hunt for the perfect seasonless army jacket. After over a year of deliberation, I finally landed here. But if the $120 price tag scares you, this one from Maison Scotch via TJMaxx could be the one. Their outerwear runs anywhere from $250-300, but this workhorse of a jacket is only $49.99! And today, TJMaxx is offering free shipping on all orders. This price is so good, I'm tempted to buy a back-up!

Meet Romwe

I discovered Chinese fast fashion clothing site Romwe a few weeks ago while shopping for work. What struck me at first was (obviously) the prices. They seem to knock-off a lot of Free People and brands from Revolve and price them anywhere from $11-$25. The descriptions are terrible- they label almost all of the fabric content as polyester even when it's cotton or rayon, but I thought it worth a try and ordered a few things. The results? Pretty great! I ordered the denim and white dresses below and think were a great deal for the price. The fabric is surprisingly nice and I got a ton of complements. Look, these aren't investment pieces. But if you're like me and like to have some not-too-precious casual items for summer weekends and work days (ie things you don't mind sweating in and sitting on the subway in), you can find some good deals here. Even better, they give new members a coupon code for an even deeper discount on your first order (an extra 15%-20% off)!

Check out my picks and happy shopping!

This or That?

Trolling in the juniors section on tjmaxx.com recently, I saw a few familiar faces from Urban Outfitters. Yes, these items are from last year, but one of them I actually missed out on during their big summer sale back in July. They're still on trend, still right, and yes I still want them. It's interesting to see the Urban styling vs. the TJMaxx styling (or lack there of). The garments are almost unrecognizable between the two sites. Below the Urban Outfitters' versions. Click through to the steals at TJMaxx.

Daily Deal feat. Raga

L.A. based Raga is quickly becoming the go-to brand for festival dressing this summer. Using classic Indian inspired prints and techniques, they create pieces that the modern boho wants to wear. Most pieces are already priced under $100, but lucky for us I found a huge cache of the line on MyHabit for even less! See my favorites below and rock on!

Are We There Yet?

With my summer vacation (finally!) on the horizon, I can't help but have resort wear on the brain. I think the things you wear on vacation should be your absolute favorites - items you can't wear in your normal day-to-day life, the things you long to wear all year round. They should transform and transport. For me, that always means an exotic print, a new silhouette, and as many tassels as possible.

I've rounded up a few of my current favorites that will get those summer vibes flowing.

Once Upon a Time ...

I was obsessed with anything Abercrombie. In the 90's, they were heavily inspired by vintage American workwear and every piece had its own special detail. In a way they remind me of what Ralph Lauren's Denim & Supply line is doing today. The 2000's were not kind to Abercrombie as they took on a glittery Britney-era persona that was anything but cool. Today they're exploring their roots with a cool girl twist. Back are the vintage washes and super soft fabrics. Back is the timeless menswear inspired outerwear. Yes, a lot of it is young (hello crop tops), but there are definitely items that fit in with my adult life. And their sales? Killer.

My favorites have to be their knitwear, sweatshirts, and graphic tees; just like the old days.

Daily Deal feat. Move by Alternative Apparel

I don't do yoga, but Alternative Apparel's Move collection makes me want to. The L.A. based company started out doing basic t-shirts and sweatshirts in soft organic cotton. They have since evolved into fashionable ready-to-wear knit and wovens in their signature vintage inspired fabrications. A few years ago they launched "Move," a collection of comfortable, easy to move in pieces that look just as great at the yoga studio as they do at Trader Joe's.

I don't think this collection is as performance driven as I would need it to be to actually work out in, but I would love to add these pieces to my errand running wardrobe, especially come spring time.
